작년에 나온 리믹스 싱글에 수록된 곡이다.
원곡이 좋아 이곳에 올린 적이 있는데, 리믹스도 느낌이 나쁘지 않다.
위 음악은 Deezer라는 사이트에서 가져왔다. 생각 없이 음악 듣고 싶을 때 딱 좋은 사이트다.

90년대에 활동했던 힙합 그룹, The Pharcyde
약간의 소울이 가미된 이런 느낌의 힙합이 좋다. 케미컬 브라더스의 음악 중 이 그룹의 Fatlip이 랩을 하는 곡이 있어서 알아보다가 듣게 되었다 (위에서 첫 번째로 랩을 하는 사람이 Fatlip이다). 랩을 하는 세 명 중 중간에 두 번째로 나오는 Slimkid3의 목소리가 매력적이다.
지난 학기에 이런 쪽으로 많이 들어보았는데 비슷하다는 De La Soul의 음악은 별로였다.

Quantic – An Announcement to Answer (from An Announcement to Answer, 2006)
그루브? 이런 거?
사실 이것보다 같은 앨범의 Bomb in a Trumpet Factory가 더 그루비한 것 같은데 유투브에는 없다.
(이 곡이 훨씬 좋은데 어떻게든 찾아서 다음에 올려야겠다)
(힙합한다는) 사람들 맨날 그루브 그루브 하는데 그루브가 뭐 대수? ㅋㅋ
Quantic 노래가 좋기는 한데 다 좋은 건 아니고 몇몇 곡들만 좋다. 2004년 Mishaps Happening은 뭐… 그닥 끌리지 않는 앨범. 2006년 앨범은 위 두 트랙만 마음에 든다.
The Quantic Soul Orchestra라는 게 있어서 조금 들어봤는데 그냥 Quantic을 달고 나온 것과 느낌이 많이 달라서 실망했다.

리암 챔버 오케스트라
Monday, November 24th, 2008오늘 우리학교 음대에서 리암 챔버 오케스트라 공연을 봤다.
리암은 Royal Irish Academy of Music을 줄여 부르는 것이고 리암 챔버 오케스트라는 이 학교 학생들로 이루어진 오케스트라라고 했다. 잘 몰랐는데 챔버 오케스트라는 소규모 오케스트라를 의미한단다. 오케스트라가 지휘자도 없다.
“아일랜드”하면 The Corrs가 생각나서 왠지 음악을 잘 할 것만 같은 느낌이다.
프로그램은 중간휴식 전에 모차르트의 Divertimento(K138)와 피아노 협주곡(K449), 후에 Inishlacken(현대 아일랜드 작곡가 Bill Whelan의 곡이다)와 드보르작의 Serenade for Strings이었다. 두 번째로 연주된 피아노 협주곡에서 피아노는 John O’Conor가 연주했다!
와… 진짜 대단하더라.
이런 수준의 공연을 내 돈 한 푼 안 내고 보게 되다니 미안할 정도였다. 실력도 뛰어났지만, 챔버 오케스트라만의 매력이 강한 인상을 남겼다. 첼로와 콘트라베이스만 앉고 바이올린과 비올라(잘 모르겠다)는 서서 연주했는데, 연주자들이 곡을 연주하며 심취하는 모습이 정말 아름다웠다. 마치 몸으로 음악을 표현하는 듯 했다.
리드 바이올린이라고 해야 하나? 그런 아저씨가 있었는데 그 아저씨는 연주 도중에 현을 두 번이나 끊었다. 처음에는 한 줄, 두 번째에는 두세 줄이나 끊어졌다. 잠깐 숨을 고르는 중에 끊어진 줄을 손으로 뜯어내는데 그렇게 멋있을 수가 없었다.
곡들도 전부 마음에 들었다. Inishlacken의 두 번째 악장도 좋았지만, 드보르작의 Senrenade for Strings의 두 번째 악장은 정말 걸작이다. 바로 아래의 곡이다.

이런 종류의 공연에 익숙지가 않아 언제 박수를 쳐야 하는지 잘 모르겠다. 다른 사람들도 잘 모르는 듯했다. 처음에는 모든 악장 사이에 박수를 쳤는데 분위기가 조금 이상했다. 중간휴식이 끝나고 관악사 대장 아저씨가 올라와서 (이번 음악회는 관악사 주관이다) 악장 사이에 치지 말고 곡이 끝나고 연주자들이 인사를 하면 박수를 치랬는데 그 아저씨가 Inishlacken이 한 악장, Serenade for Strings가 세 악장이라고 잘못 알려주어서 (사실은 두 악장, 다섯 악장 곡이다) 오히려 박수를 치다 안 치다 해 엉망진창이 되었다.
끝나고 나오면서 O’Conor가 아내와 같이 있는 걸 봤는데 사진을 찍었으면 좋았을 것 같다. 찍고 싶었지만 사람이 많기도 했고 카메라가 없었다.

Common – Be (from Be, 2005)
Kanye West가 좋아서 비슷한 음악을 찾다가 Common하고 Lupe Fiasco를 듣게 되었다.
이건 Common의 2005년 앨범 Be의 인트로인데 노래는 잘 모르겠고 시작하는 부분이 좋다.
현을 퉁기는 소리 같은데 소리가 무겁고 좋다. ㅎㅎ 단순한 멜로디가 음색이 좋아서 정말 아름답게 들린다.
